Grant Writing Intern

How would you like to use your writing and editing skills to obtain funding that will contribute to improved physical and mental health for people? Gain valuable experience for your CV while engaging in fulfilling work. You will have the opportunity to improve your research tactics, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in writing and editing. You will acquire first-hand knowledge in the day-to-day operations of both a small business and a nonprofit organization. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Attention to detail and excellent knowledge of the English language
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information and form a cohesive piece of writing
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Willing to learn about the many therapeutic uses of an emerging medical technology

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATOINS

  • B.S. or B.A. in Psychology, English, or related field

POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • 15 to 20 hours a week (flexible hours M-F) for 6-12 months
  • Develop literature search strategy
  • Conduct systematic literature search to identify relevant publications
  • Objectively evaluate scientific literature and data
  • Extract relevant data from publications
  • Prepare summary of literature review and synopses of relevant materials
  • Assist in writing and editing grant proposals
  • Work in teams with clinical and product development staff
  • Perform other duties as needed

Days/Hours: M-F 15-20 hrs/wk, flexible
Salary: Non-paid internship
